Kotlin Packaged by IOanyT Innovations - Ubuntu 18.04|20.04|22.04

Updated: Dec 20, 2022

OVERVIEW

Kotlin is a general purpose, free, open source, statically typed “pragmatic” programming language initially designed for the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) and Android, and combines object-oriented and functional programming features. It is focused on interoperability, safety, clarity, and tooling support.

It has become very popular since it is compatible with Java (one of the most popular programming languages out there), which means that Java code (and libraries) can be used in Kotlin programs.

Kotlin is used for:

  • Mobile applications (specially Android apps)

  • Web development

  • Server side applications

  • Data science

  • And much, much more!
